FLoHM is an acoustic solo project of Hungarian Cellist, Gábor Hartyáni, creating ever-shifting meditative trance flows, guiding listeners through sonic landscapes woven from original compositions, improvisation and influences from classical, jazz and world music. Often blending melodies and rhythms from lands and traditions of Eastern Europe, Turkey, the Middle East and India, the music unfolds in dialogue with the moment, the audience and the space itself. This special concert celebrates the release of "what remains lingering", a double EP of material recorded during an artist residency in the abandoned building of Hangar Museo of Albanella in rural Italy. The vast concrete exhibition hall, with its remarkable natural reverberation, became both instrument and collaborator in the recording process. The first EP, "lingering", explores the acoustic possibilities of the space through a collection of on the spot compositions and transformed, extended versions of earlier works, shaped by resonance, repetition and spontaneous discovery. The second EP, "what remains", is the audio recording of a dance-music instant composition piece with dancer David Kummer. Originally, both video and audio material were recorded simultaneously but the video footage got lost and this sonic trace is "what remains". For this release concert at Emmauskirche, the music returns to a space whose architecture and acoustics can once again become part of the performance, inviting the audience into an immersive listening experience shaped by resonance, presence and attentive listening.
